Now I’m at the Musee Marmatton Monet, a museum featuring a large collection of Monet paintings, including this one, generally considered to be the source of the name of the style known as Impressionism. This museum is not nearly as well known as the Louvre or the Musee D’Orsay near the center of the city. It’s located near the Bois de Boulogne on the Western edge of center city Paris. As a consequence, it was much less crowded than those two museums and others in the heart. In fact, I had to skip the Louvre and D’Orsay this time because they were so crowded.
