In addition to a search for real Tarte Flambee, I also wanted to try real Canadian Poutine, a much maligned dish that is a classic example of “comfort food”. I’ve had it in Baltimore and Disney World without being impressed, and I wanted to see how it was in its home territory. It was pretty good, but after getting back I’ve already made it better. It’s so simple that the only key to goodness is the quality of the ingredients (French Fries, Cheese ‘Curds’ [probably one reason people turn their noses up at it - it’s just cheese], and Beef Gravy. If those are good, it will be good :-)
I just made one with Tater Tots, Mozzarella Cheese, and McCormick Brown Gravy (“30% less sodium”), it was very good :-)
